Ships of Merior
Third Age 5644: Following a bout of the Mad Prophet's antics, Asandir reveals to Eldir that Dakar is five hundred and eighty-seven years old and requests that the secret be kept from the rest of the court. Though angered over his wasted attempts to save Dakar's life, Eldir is even-tempered enough to leave the punishment to Asandir.
Warhost of Vastmark
Third Age 5647: After Arithon's abduction of Talith, Eldir agrees to be the neutral host of the ransom exchange at Ostermere. Shortly before summer solstice, Eldir welcomes Arithon to Ostermere. He receives a gift of ten mares and a stallion from Arithon. A passing phrase leads Eldir to believe that the ransom has been stolen. When he brings his suspicions to the Fellowship, Arithon reveals that he had a hand in the theft, but did not leave any direct evidence linking him to it. Eldir oversees the ransom exchange and accepts Diegan's oath of non-violence.
Third Age 5647: Just after the campaign in Vastmark, Arithon surrenders Tysan's waylaid ransom of 500,000 coin weight under Fellowship auspices. Eldir sends his ambassador to Avenor to return the ransom with clear instructions to maintain Havish's neutrality in future events. Two months later, Eldir delivers an ultimatum to Avenor, barring all slave-baring galleys from Havish ports.
Third Age 5653: King Eldir announces his upcoming handfasting. When a slaver ship is caught in Cheivalt in violation of Havish's laws, the harbormaster and three galleymen are condemned for treason. Eldir's justice causes trade in Tysan to suffer. Just before his wedding, Eldir asks for Fellowship assistance to prevent slave ships from sneaking into Havish ports. He also agrees to grant sanctuary to the persecuted clansmen of Tysan, as well as those persecuted for practicing sorcery.
Third Age 5654: Eldir's first child is born. Over the coming decade, he has two more sons and another daughter. In a scrying, the Fellowship identify the next youngest child as the heir designate. As the influence of the Alliance spreads, King Eldir rules firmly and neutrally in Havish.
Third Age 5670: King Eldir is in council with Machiel, the Minister of Trade, and a spokesman from Mornos, strategizing in the face of an unnatural extended winter and possible famine. Luhaine reveals that Princess Ellaine may be arriving in search of sanctuary soon.
Feylind arranges a meeting between Eldir and Princess Ellaine aboard the Evenstar. Recognizing who she is but realizing that giving her sanctuary might start a war, he summons Ianfar s'Gannley. Ianfar reviews her written proof of conspiracy and agrees that she cannot return to Tysan. When Eldir cannot offer sanctuary, Ianfar s'Gannley takes Ellaine under his protection with intent to sail on the Evenstar to Alestron. Later, King Eldir sends a copy of the proof to Lord Maenol in Tysan.
Third Age 5671: Feylind petitions King Eldir to provide a relief run to Alestron. Acknowledging debt to Rathain and Alestron, Eldir agrees, as long as the Evenstar's crew makes the delivery on their own merits.
