Role in the Story

Spoiler warning: Contains plot elements from multiple books in the series.

Curse of the Mistwraith

Third Age 5637: Dakar gives the Black Rose Prophecy during a scrying of the futures of Arithon and Lysaer by the Fellowship of Seven at Althain Tower. When queried by Sethvir about the existence of a black rose, Dakar added that the briar's growth is tied to Arithon's willing acceptance of kingship.

Traitor's Knot

Third Age 5671: Arithon's plan to bring peace between clansmen and townsfolk leads him towards embracing kingship. However, subsequent plot events involving necromancy abort his plan before it can begin, and the Black Rose Prophecy is left in jeopardy.

Initiate's Trial

Third Age 5923: In confidence, Dakar describes the prophecy to High King Gestry and his inner circle. He says that Arithon's untimely death would prevent the Fellowship's recovery to full strength.
